1. Information on this website

We publish public competition details and athlete results, including names, sporting nationalities, rankings, boat numbers and recorded race times. Event information comes from kayak.love; imported results identify their official source where available. These are sporting records, not information collected through user accounts.

2. Information generated when you browse

Your browser sends technical information needed to deliver pages, such as your IP address, browser details and requested URLs. Hosting infrastructure may process this information for delivery, security and troubleshooting. Retention depends on the hosting configuration and applicable requirements; we do not specify a retention period that has not been verified.

The current application has no active account registration, newsletter or contact form. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-H8QMQR4KYK) to analyze website traffic. It can collect page views, navigation events, device and browser information and cookie identifiers. Search and filter controls update the displayed results; selected categories and nation filters can appear in the page URL.

3. Public data and external services

Google Analytics loads when you open a page, before you acknowledge the cookie notice. Google processes technical request information when your browser contacts its services. See Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner sites. Processing may involve countries outside your own. Retention and data-sharing settings depend on the Analytics property configuration.

The competitions page requests public event data from kayak.love and requests place details when you open an event's geographic pointer. Place previews load Google Maps static images when configured, sending technical request information to Google; Google's privacy and storage policies apply. Depending on whether a page is rendered on the server or loaded in your browser, that service may receive the request from our server or directly from your device. A direct request includes your IP address and normal browser request information.

Country photographs and flags are served from our own assets. Photo credits link to Wikimedia Commons and the relevant license. Instagram, event websites and source links are ordinary external links, not embedded social widgets. Following them takes you to services with their own privacy policies.

4. Why information is used

Information is used to provide competition listings and public sporting results, maintain the website, investigate technical problems and respond to messages you choose to send us. If you contact us, we process the contents of your message and the contact details you provide to handle your request.

5. Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics can set analytics cookies. We store the cookie notice acknowledgement in session storage under onlysurfski.cookies.accepted so it is not shown again in the same tab session. Acknowledging the notice does not enable or disable Analytics. See our Cookies Policy for details and browser controls. Infrastructure or future features may require this information to be updated.

6. Your rights and corrections

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to information, access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection concerning personal information about you, and to complain to a competent data protection authority. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions provided by law. To ask about your information or report an incorrect athlete record, email legal@onlysurfski.com, identifying the relevant page and record.
